Whether you're a seasoned foodie or someone new to Japanese cuisine, Torihan Azabujuban promises to delight your senses with its top-tier yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and other carefully crafted dishes.

The standout feature of Torihan Azabujuban is its commitment to quality. Every skewer is grilled to perfection, with each piece of chicken meticulously chosen for its tenderness and flavor. The restaurant specializes in yakitori-an artful approach to grilling various parts of chicken on skewers over a charcoal flame. What sets Torihan apart is the way they elevate simple ingredients to new heights. The chicken is always fresh, and the seasoning is just right-enhancing, not overpowering, the natural taste of the meat.

In addition to the popular yakitori, the menu at Torihan Azabujuban offers a range of traditional Japanese dishes. From tori-don (chicken rice bowls) to tsukune (chicken meatballs), each item reflects the restaurant’s dedication to authenticity. The combination of bold flavors and delicate presentation makes each meal feel like a work of art. If you're in the mood for something light and refreshing, the sunomono (vinegar-based salads) are a perfect appetizer, offering a crisp contrast to the grilled dishes.

The atmosphere of Torihan Azabujuban is just as inviting as its menu. The restaurant’s interior features a warm, minimalist design that allows guests to focus on the food while creating a cozy and intimate environment. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a quiet dinner with friends, a family gathering, or even a romantic evening out. The chefs are visible from the dining area, allowing patrons to watch the culinary magic unfold as each skewer is expertly prepared.

One of the things that makes Torihan Azabujuban truly stand out is the quality of its ingredients. The restaurant partners with local suppliers to ensure that only the freshest and highest-quality products make their way to the grill. Their commitment to sourcing the best ingredients is evident in every bite, from the juicy, smoky chicken to the tender vegetables that accompany each skewer.

For those who enjoy pairing their meals with a drink, the drink menu is thoughtfully curated. The sake list is particularly impressive, with options ranging from light and fruity to rich and full-bodied, offering something for every palate. There’s also a selection of Japanese beers and expertly crafted cocktails to complement the meal. Whether you're sipping a glass of sake or enjoying a cold beer with your yakitori, Torihan Azabujuban ensures that every element of your dining experience is perfectly balanced.

  • Such a wonderful dining experience! A cozy place ran by a very kind couple. Their yakitori is amazing! The skewers are all tasty in their unique way. The gizzards, blood vessel, and duck are our favorite. The owner speaks English and explained to us all the different parts. You can tell they definitely put some thought into every course of the meal -the combination of skewers, the choice of sauce and side dish, even the plates. Their homemade wine and dessert also worth to try. We would definitely come back next time we’re in Tokyo!

  • Stumbled upon this place with pure luck while looking for yakitori place near our hotel. Is it possible that grilled chicken taste so good? I was absolutely amazed. Thank you for a very fine dining experience. I cannot recommend more!

  • I don’t know why I haven’t put up a review for this AMAZING restaurant yet, I’ve been here 3 times. Saying the food is good here is a severe understatement. This is the best chicken Yakitori I’ve ever had bar none. This should be the kind of yakitori that is on the Michelin guide. Every time I come to Tokyo I look forward to eating here. The chef and his wife are incredibly friendly and accommodating to dietary restrictions. Their duck, neck, and knee yakitori are exceptionally good. Highlight of the meal is the duck paired with a sweet dried fruit and marinated cherry tomato. Eat here any you’ll know what the best Japanese Chicken Yakitori tastes like. Oh and did I mention that the owner speaks English?Arigato Gozaimashita, Gochisosama deshita!

  • The food is delicious and the chief is very professional. However, you have to order a food course first which is a style of omakase. Then you can order additional a-la-carte items. I recommend a 12 skewers course

  • We went to this yakitori place on a rainy night, it was our last night of this Tokyo trip, our experience was beyond expectation. The owners (a couple) are super nice, food is perfect, atmosphere is cozy and private. I told my partner “在这吃饭感觉到幸福”.

  • Torihan Azabujuban is one of the best Yakitori experiences we have had in Japan. It is not only about the skewers, which are pretty good, but the complete dining experience. This is a small place, and reservations are a good idea. Luckily, this is an easy process - just call - the owner speaks English and will take your reservation over the phone. A husband/wife team runs it, and the dining area shares the space with the kitchen, so you can watch the grilling process. You have to order a 'set', but if you want more after your set is completed you can order additional skewers al la carte. We ordered the most basic 8-skewer set, and frankly, it was plenty of food. Depending on your ' adventure ' tolerance, the owner will customize the menu for you. It will range from 'meat only' to organs to raw chicken. The wine list here is short but very good, as is the sake list. Torihan Azabujuban is expensive but definitely worth it, and it's a very accessible yakitora experience for non-Japanese speakers. We will definitely return the next time we are in Tokyo.

  • The price is not cheap but it is worth it. It is easy to make a reservation and walkable from Roppongi Station. The chef has nailed all the dishes. It is simple yet perfectly cooked. Good Sake selections. Relax and private atmosphere.
